10-16-07 Limits plus Extra |

I had Steve and Lynn Jones today and they really put it on the fish. We headed to the Matagorda shoreline with the high water and it payed off for us. We had our limits of redfish (6), 7 drum, 1 sheepshead, and 1 trout. We would have finished our limit of drum, but we needed a bathroom break and then they were all fished out. I am so happy to be back up north again!!! |

I was part of a 2 boat trip today for KB home. I finally came back up north after several months and the fishing is returning to normal after the floods. We had 5 reds, 1 drum and 1 sheepshead. |

I was back with one of my favorite clients today- the Doellings. Dixie and Gene were in the Farmers Fishing Rodeo out of Port Aransas. We lost a really nice red at the jetties, but we got back on them at Mud Island. Dixe had the hot hand today and she did win the Ladies catergory for the biggest redfish. We missed out on the big money by a few ounces, but we had a great day anyways. Congrats to Dixie on her big win!!! |

My guys today asked for 4 baitcasters so that was what I brought. I only wish that they could have used them better. 1 of the guys was pretty good with it, but the others were struggling with it. We did manage 5 reds, 1 flounder, and a few trout, but the numbers could have been better if we spent more time fishing instead of untangling birdsnests. |

Today I had a couple who got rained out during our flood this summer. We hit the jetties first and put 1 red in the box and then missed a few more. We moved in to Mud Isalnd and finished our limit pretty quick. We looked for trout for a while, but there weren't any to be found. It was good to get them back out on the water after the rains this summer. |

Today I had 4 guys who were out to live it up before their buddy got married. We had only 1 red in the box at 9:00 and they had already run out of beer. After a short move, we put 4 more in the box and then Jason said let's go just like that. The guy who referred the trip to me said he didn't like to fish long, but I think they were really ready to go party. Anyways, it was a good short morning. |
