I took a play day today with some of the Lighthouse crew. Max, Michelle, Matt and myself ran out to second chain to look for trout today. We hit mud bay on the way, but it wasn't holding fish. Our first drift in second chain brought us a few nice trout and then Max hooked up with a 36 inch drum. This big drum was in about 3 ft. of water and it fought much better than the deep water drum I had been on last month. This fish hit so hard, I thought Max was going to go over the side. We continued drifting until we put a decent box of fish together. When the sun did come out, our drifts were much more productive. Matt had never been fishing before and he did great picking it up. Michelle is in training for Babes On The Bay. We might need a trail run before the tournament, but she came on strong at the end and put a few nice ones in the box. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday with some good people. It's a bust week for me as long as the weather holds out.
