October has brought our bull tides in and they look like they are here for a while. The reds seem to have scattered a little bit early in the month and then the black drum moved in. We had 4 days in a row with 15 or 20 drum coming in per boat. We had a multiboat deal where we all limited on drum by 9:00 am and then went to look for redfish. Later in the month, the trout bite picked up pretty good in San Antonio Bay. Again, there were several days with limits of nice trout coming in. We were catching them on topwaters, live bait and shrimptails. At the end of the month, I had my good client Gene Elliot down and we went out and caught some MONSTER reds in Port O Connor. We had some beautiful reds in the 38 to 42 inch range with multiple spots. Mr. Elliot is having his largest mounted and it should be ready in a few months. November is the time to fish our cold fronts and we have a pretty good one coming in shortly.
